Detail

This looks like a transparent hinged protective box with a hanging chain, typically used as a safety cover over an emergency stop push button or similar control.

It’s a  transparent mini electrical panel lockout with chain, designed to cover and lock square push buttons or selector switches on panels where no inbuilt lockout provision exists.

Ideal locations: MCC panels, control desks, and machine panels where OEM did not provide lockable covers on emergency stop, start, or selector switches​

Box-type cover with square inner cavity that encloses the projecting part of the switch; fitted with a metal chain so the device remains tethered to the panel and is not misplaced.

Inner size: Approximately 45 × 45 mm (inner body mentioned as 50.5 × 50.5 mm

​Two padlock holes accepting shackles up to approximately 6.8 mm, enabling single or multiple padlock use for group LOTO.

 

Product type and use

Used as part of an overall Lockout/Tagout procedure; one or more padlocks plus tags can be applied so only authorized personnel can remove the device and re-energize the circuit.

Operation: The base is fixed over/around the control point; when the cover is placed on, padlocks are applied through the integrated holes so the cover cannot be removed and the button cannot be pressed.
